Edition Katowice 2018
The third edition of Marine Industry Forum took place between 12 and 13 October 2018 at the International Congress Centre in Katowice. Katowice was the co-host of the Forum, together with the organizer Murator EXPO, in close cooperation with the Polish Chamber of Marine Industry and Water Sports POLBOAT. The conference was held during the 3rd Silesian Water Sports and Recreation Fair WIND and WATER.
The leitmotif of the technological forum were unmanned autonomous vessels - a new trend in the global market, both in the commercial and military sectors. The subject of unmanned vessels - innovative technological systems - arouses great interest of scientists and academic researchers, as well as among representatives of the yachting industry.
During the meetings and discussion panel, our special guests from Poland and abroad extensively discussed this topic. The guest of honor -Nenad Banjanin from Al Marakeb, Piotr Cywiński from Navinord and Henryk Lasota from the Gdańsk University of Technology answered the main question of whether the Polish yachting industry can produce unmanned vessels.
Furthermore, the latest trends in yacht and boat power systems were examined. Jacek Sadowski, from Marine Works, talked about hybrid propulsion of small vessels, Seweryn Majewski from XDISC presented the latest photovoltaic panels, and Artur Polak from the Institute of Drives and Electrical Machines KOMEL, talked about innovative electric drives. In the final discussion panel of the third edition of the technological forum, our experts also discussed new trends and the future of new power systems.
