About the Fair
The WIND and WATER Boat Show is the largest exhibition event in the water sports and recreation industry in Central Europe. It was held for the first time in 1990 in Zegrze. A year later, it was moved to Warsaw. From 2002 to 2013, it was held at EXPO XXI, to eventually return here in 2018.
Since 2004, the owner of the Boat Show has been Yacht EXPO – a company established by leading Polish shipyards, producers, importers and distributors of sailing and motorboating equipment – and by Murator EXPO, which specialises in the organisation of exhibition events. The partner of the Boat Show is the magazine “Żagle”. WIND and WATER is a member of the International Federation of Boat Show Organisers (IFBSO) and holds a quality certificate that only the leading international events of this type can boast of. In 2006, the first summer edition of WIND and WATER on water was held in Sopot. The next editions were held in Gdynia – the Sailing Capital of Poland. 2016 saw the debut of the Silesian edition of the WIND and WATER Boat Show in the International Congress Centre in Katowice.
Each year, WIND and WATER in Warsaw gathers more than 400 exhibitors from Poland and abroad and is visited by 30,000 people. The prestige of the event is further confirmed by the fact that it is here that the award ceremonies of the most important awards in the industry are held, including: the Polish Yacht of the Year, the Jerzy Fijka Award ‘Highlights of WIND and WATER’ (‘Gwoździe Targów’), the awards of the Polish Chamber of Marine Industry and Water Sports and the awards of the Polish Motorboat and Water Ski Association, the Volunteer Water Rescue Service (WOPR) and the Polish Tourist and Sightseeing Society (PTTK). Finally, the Boat Show enjoys the patronage of the highest ministerial authorities, organisations and associations of the water sports industry, as well as leading Polish, regional and industry-related media.
